1 · Name emotion and urge
Name the feeling and what it is pushing you to do - shame, and the urge to hide.
2 · Check if it fits
Ask honestly: does the feeling fit the facts, and will acting on it actually help? If not, keep going.
3 · Choose the opposite
Choose the action opposite to the urge - approach instead of avoid, gentle instead of harsh.
4 · Do it fully
Do the opposite all the way - your posture, your face, your words. Half-hearted will not move the feeling.
5 · Step back and tell the difference
Opposite action is only for feelings that do not fit the facts, or fit but won't help. Step back and check before you act opposite. Use the prompts in the record to tell it apart.

Courage is not the absence of the feeling. It is doing the true thing while it is still loud. You get still, you take the next faithful step, and the feeling follows in time.
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
